Homeopathic Remedies for Acne

Acne can be an embarrassing and extremely frustrating condition to deal with. Not only can it hamper your self-esteem but it can also become costly as you frequent the dermatologist and purchase prescriptions and over the counter products like face wash, moisturizers, gels and creams. Tired of visiting the doctor and getting virtually nowhere? Try some of these homeopathic remedies for acne.

Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil has been found to be one of several very effective remedies for acne. It works like the often prescribed benzoyl peroxide by cutting back on the oil production of your face while simultaneously fighting the bacteria that causes acne. The upside to tea tree oil is that while it acts like a prescription it does not dry out your skin like one.

Sulfur
Sulfur is to be used as a topical and works by eliminating blackheads and clogged pores by opening the pores and reducing the natural production of oils in your skin. Expect for your skin to dry out and in some cases it can even peel. As a precaution sulfur should not be used on skin that is already dry.

Vitamin A
Vitamin A should be ingested and can work to clear your skin from the inside. Vitamin A acts as a retinoid drug by promoting and increasing cell turnover. This process prevents pores from becoming clogged by dirt and oil.

Vitamin E
Vitamin E should also be ingested to help and heal your skin from within. Not only is it great for your immune system but it also has strong anti-oxidant properties. Vitamin E helps skin already displaying acne scars to become less noticeable by protecting cell membranes from damage and by destroying any harmful free radicals in the skin.

Vitamin D
We get vitamin D naturally by being outside and in the sun. Some studies have shown that a lack of vitamin D may actually cause, or worsen, an outbreak of acne. If you are not getting enough time out in the sun, due either to your location or the time of the year, simply take some vitamin D to supplement the deficiency.
